Black Girls in New York City Briefing

Philanthropy New York Funders of Women and Girls, a  professional peer network of Philanthropy New York members whose grantmaking includes a substantial focus on improving the lives of women and girls in New York, hosted a briefing around "Black Girls in New York City: Untold Strength & Resilience" in April of 2009.  This report uncovers some of the specific challenges and daily struggles faced by girls of African descent, while identifying their strengths, triumphs and modes of survival.
