For almost 25 years, Women’s Action for New Directions Education Fund (WAND) has educated the public and opinion leaders about the risks of nuclear war, foreign policy issues and the need to reduce violence and militarism in society, as well as redirect excessive military spending to unmet human and environmental needs. WAND Education Fund is the only national peace and security organization educating diverse elected and activist women and bringing their voices into federal policy and budget debates.
In 2004, WAND Education Fund launched the “New Vision – New Voices on Security” project to engage more women in the national conversation about foreign policy and security issues. This project reaches out to and engages women of faith on peace and security issues. WAND’s aspiration is to provide resources to, and create solidarity among, women of faith who share values that inform a common understanding of the role of our nation in the world.
