Sakhi for South Asian Women exists to end violence against women. They unite survivors, communities and institutions to eradicate domestic violence as they work together to create strong and healthy communities. Sakhi uses an integrated approach that combines support and empowerment through service delivery, community engagement, media advocacy and policy initiatives.
Sakhi built on its groundbreaking faith-based research and outreach by capturing its faith-based work via innovative and educational media tools. In addition, these media tools were utilized to facilitate innovative programming and strategic networking in Richmond Hill, Queens both via presentations to Richmond Hill faith institutions and in a series of support groups and workshops for women in this community.
