Established in 1982, Idanha Films’ mission is to produce documentary films giving voice to those who traditionally have had no audience, including: women, children, indigenous populations, defenders of social justice and of the natural environment. Presently, key creative personnel include the mother-daughter team, Lori Joyce, Producer/Director/Writer, and Candice Kearns, Associate Producer/ Director. For the film project, Tribe All, Lori and Candice are joined by Mark Birnbaum, Director of Photography.
Through beautiful moving pictures, Tribe All weaves the natural elements of earth, air, fire and water. Taking the viewer on a journey across the globe, to all tribes, Tribe All, gives women storytellers the opportunity to explain how these elements are being destroyed and/or exploited. The women storytellers provide the viewer with examples of how the diverse human race may harness the natural elements and honor the life giving earth. In Tribe All, women use the elements of earth, air, fire and water to become self-sustainable through feeding their children, re-building their community and bringing about environmental stability. With these women’s stories, it is the goal of this film to inspire others to do more in their communities towards environmental and social justice. By weaving together the connections and the common thread between all peoples, the film producers find that the people of the world are beginning to transcend ethnic, political and religious boundaries in order to make the necessary transition to survive in harmony with the natural world and with each other.
