Faith Partnerships will prepare a network of women of faith to mobilize a solid collaborative approach to addressing issues of poverty in their communities. They will offer capacity building workshops on opportunities resulting from government and philanthropic initiatives to meet critical needs during the recession. This project will move towards the development of a stronger training curriculum to meet the needs of rural partners. It will strengthen and connect female Rural Faith Partners and Communities of Color.
Faith Partnerships Incorporated grew out of a coalition of leaders in the faith community working in collaboration with the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center on ways to address the needs of poverty-stricken families. Today, it has over sixteen years of experience providing training and capacity building to faith-based groups to enable them to participate in an ever-larger collaborative network of faith-based organizations that would draw strength from each other as they reached out into their local communities. For years, Faith Partnerships has been committed to the importance of the church’s role in the development of efforts to respond to the needs of women and children in the U.S. struggling with issues of poverty.
