The American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA Society), a New York City based not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) founded in 1997, is an Islamic cultural and educational organization dedicated to fostering an American-Muslim identity and building bridges between American Muslims and the American public. ASMA Society’s philosophical objectives are to 1) strengthen a culturally American expression of Islam based on tolerance and on cultural and religious harmony, and 2) foster an environment in which Muslims can thrive.
WISE has had a positive reception from Muslim individuals, organizations and governments as well as from Western foundations and media.
